ENTRIES FOR THE 2010 MONTE MILLER AWARDS ARE NOW CLOSED. The Monte Miller Awards are awarded for unproduced scripts by an associate member of the Guild and recognise and reward emerging talent.
Open to all areas of performance writing including film, television and stage the Short Form Monte Miller will be awarded for scripts of 30 minutes and less and the Long Form Award is for scripts over 30 minutes.
A dedicated and long-standing Guild member, Monte Miller was a staff writer with Crawford Productions writing for Matlock, Division 4 and Homicide. Apart from penning episodes for these classic shows, he was also committed to encouraging and assisting aspiring writers.
Following Miller’s death the Guild introduced the award in 1972 to acknowledge his contribution to the industry through his work with new writers.
Entries for the Monte Miller Awards have now closed. Winners will be announced at the 43rd Annual AWGIE Awards to be held in Melbourne on Friday 20 August.
Please Note: Owing to the increasing numbers, Monte Miller (Long Form) entries will be initially judged upon a synopsis and the first 20 pages of the fully-submitted script before progressing to a short list judging round.
