Debra Oswald is an award-winning stage and screenwriter and co-creator of the TV series Offspring. Her TV credits include Police Rescue, Palace of Dreams, The Secret Life of Us, Sweet & Sour and Bananas in Pyjamas. Her stage plays Gary’s House, Sweet Road and The Peach Season were all shortlisted for the Premier’s Literary Award. Debra has written four plays for young audiences – Dags, Skate, Stories in the Dark and House on Fire.
Shane Krause is co-writer with (Shayne Armstrong) of the Joel Edgerton thriller Acolytes, shark movie Bait 3D, and supernatural thriller, The Darkness. They’ve also worked on a Star Wars featurette series, animated TV series Exchange Student Zero, children’s comedy zombie TV series Drop Dead Weird, and developed and wrote Doctor Who-based children’s sci-fi series K9. Shane is a four-time AWGIES nominee, and two-time co-winner of the John Hinde Award for Excellence in Sci-Fi Writing.
Rebecca Sommi-Fisher is a Canadian-born screenwriter. She studied at AFTRS, and began her writing career at the ABC. Rebecca worked extensively overseas as a script consultant and script editor for several production companies in the UK and Canada including Infinity Features, Prime Focus Productions and Radical Media. She has settled back in Sydney to focus on her own projects including a romantic-comedy feature film.
Karel Segers wrote his first produced screenplay at age 17. Today he is a story consultant, lecturer and producer, with experience in film rights acquisition, development and production. Karel is a certified teacher whose lectures have inspired students in Australia, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. His clients include award-winning filmmakers as well as three Oscar nominees.
